We’ll help make your climbing goals a reality

Mount Kilimanjaro

The summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest point in Africa at 19,340 feed (5,895 meters) and known as one of the Seven Summits of the World. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is an experience of a lifetime. While the climb itself is not technical, it is challenging and definitely something to make you proud of yourself.

What to Expect

Our expert guides will hike with you each day at a slow, steady pace to ensure the best chance of reaching the summit while reducing the risks associate with high altitude. Each day you will carry your backpack with drinking water for that day and any extra gear or snacks you might need and our devoted porters will take care of the rest. We will set up your tents each day (unless you are on a route with huts) and provide three meals each day to give you the sustenance you need to reach the top. The number of days, distance covered each day, and difficulty varies depending on which route you choose. We are happy to consult with you to decide which route is best for you!

We’ll help you figure out which route is perfect for you!

  • Machame Route

The Machame Route (6 or 7 days) is perfect for those seeking a thrilling and adventurous climb. This route, also known as the Whiskey Route, is one of the most popular on Kilimanjaro. Even though it’s known to be a tougher climb than Marangu, the Machame Route has one of the highest summit success rates. The topography of this route allows you to “trek high & sleep low”, which helps in acclimatization. The Machame route is scenically striking and diverse.

  • Marangu Route

The Marangu Route (5-6 days), also known as the "Coca-Cola" route, is the oldest, most well established route on Kilimanjaro. This is the only route which offers sleeping huts in lieu of camping. This route includes breathtaking views as you trek right next to Mawenzi Peak. This path provides trekkers with the classic Kilimanjaro climbing experience, offering sweeping views and a wonderful hiking adventure all the way to the summit.

  • Lemosho Route

Lemosho Route (7-8 days) is known as one of the most scenic routes of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is one of the least frequented routes, so the first few days you may even feel as if you have the entire mountain to yourself. You’ll hike to Shira Plateau and Shira Peak and see beautiful views and amazing landscape. In later days, the route joins up with Machame. If you’re looking to maximize your chances of reaching the top of the mountain, this is certainly one of the best options to choose.

  • Rongai Route

The Rongai Route (6-7 days) is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the North. It is one of the most remote trails on the entire mountain and is among the least visited of all of the routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Those who choose this path will experience peace and quiet for much of the trek, encountering few other climbers prior to reaching the Kibo Camp, at which point the trail merges with the Marangu Route for the final push to the summit.

Mount Meru

Mount Meru is visible from Mount Kilimanjaro and lies 45 miles (70 kilometers) to the West in Arusha. On a clear day, it is visible from various points on Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru has a height of 14,980 feet (4,566 meters). Similar to Kilimanjaro, our expert guides will hike with you each day along with an armed ranger as the trek begins in Arusha National Park where you are more apt to see wildlife than on Kilimanjaro. The trail to the summit boasts huts rather than camping. Mount Meru has a reputation for having a more difficult summit day than Kilimanjaro.
